Gajar Ka Halwa

Gajar halwa is a winter special sweet recipe commonly made in every north Indian home with their own version.

Ingredients:-  ( Serve 10)

  • 1 kg Gajar / Carrots
  • 750 ml Milk / Dudh
  • 3/4 cup Sugar / Chini
  • 3/4 – 1 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder / Elachi
  • 3/4 cup Khoya / Mawa or

1/4 cup Condensed Milk

  • 1/4 cup Raisin / Kishmish
  • 1/4 cup Almond / Badam
  • 1/4 cup Cashews / Kaju

Method :-

  1. Peel cutting two ends and wash Carrots.Then shred them manually or using food processor.
  2. Boil in milk adding Sugar and Condensed milk.Stir occassionally.
  3. Boil until milk dries out.
  4. Adding ghee,Khoya and dry fruits sauté till ghee starts oozing.It will take you 15-20 minutes.
  5. Add cardamom powder,mix and remove from stove.
  6. Serve hot garnished with remaining dry fruits and Khoya.

Tips :-

  • If you are using full fat milk ,no need to add Khoya or condensed milk.
