Here in this recipe of chocolate peanut butter bar, we have used chocolate peanut butter but you can simply use melted dark chocolate for the upper layer or mix chocolate with peanut butter to form the upper layer.And the melted peanut butter swirls made on the top give this chocolate peanut butter bar a beautiful tempting marble effect.

You can give this recipe a twist or variation by adding chopped dry fruits to it, which will further increase its nutritional value.Already this chocolate peanut butter bar is a good source of protein and healthy fats because of the use of peanut butter.Besides that the use of dark chocolate furthere makes it rich in antioxidants. Ingredients
  

Base

  • 150 gm Digestive Biscuits
  • 50 gm Butter
  • 75 gm Peanut butter

Chocolate Layer

  • 170 gm Chocolate Peanut butter
  • OR
  • 150 gm Dark Chocolate
  • 20 gm Peanut butter

Marble Design

  • 20 gm Peanut butter
  • 2 tsp Melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Crush and grind the biscuits in a food processor or a mixer grinder or you can even do it manually.
  • Next mix in Peanut butter and then the butter.
  • Take a 5 x 5 greased baking dish line it with the butter paper or parchment paper.
  • Drop the made biscuit mix over it and then level it up using your spatula. Keep it aside for a while.
  • Using a double boiler method melt the chocolate and then mix in the peanut butter or using same method you can straightaway melt the chocolate peanut butter till it’s smooth and pliable.
  • Drop the chocolate peanut over the biscuit crush,level it.
  • Next for the marble design finish over your chocolate peanut bar, mix peanut butter in the melted butter.Now using a spoon drop swirls over the spread chocolate peanut.
  • Let this chilli in refrigerator for 2-3 hours before you cut and enjoy it.

Note

  • To manually crush the biscuits put them into a Ziplock bag and then beat them to crush using a rolling pin.

Chhena Poda, is a delectable sweet dish hailing from the state of Odisha, which now holds a cherished place in the hearts of all sweet lovers with its captivating taste and flavor.Chhena means cottage cheese and Poda means baked.

What is chhena poda

Chhena Poda is a caramelized baked cheese cake with crisp texture from outside with creamy soft texture inside.It can either be called a mithai or a type of Indian sweet or dessert. Apart from that, Chhena Poda is made using Cottage cheese ( Paneer or Chena ), so it can also be called an original Indian baked Cheese cake.

Origin and history of chhena poda   

Chhena Poda is said to have got its origin back in the year 1947 in a village of Odisha named Dashapalla by a baker named Sudarshan Sahu. Sudarshan Sahu accidentally left sugar mixed leftover Cottage cheese, which means Paneer in Hindi over a preheated chulha, a type of wood fired mud stove overnight.

How to make chhena poda

Making Chhena Poda is insanely easy and you just require two main ingredients to make it, one is Chhena and the other is Sugar or Jaggery/Gud.You just need to mash Chhena and then add in sugar and cardamom for flavor.Apart from that you can add in some Semolina to give more volume and texture of a real cake with some dry fruits for crunches.This mix is then set in baking tray traditionally lined with Sal leaves, that gives Chhena Poda a unique flavor.Alternatively you can use Banane leaves or if nothing is available Parchment paper.Chhena Poda is best made at home using fresh homemade chhena from full fat milk or if you want to use store bought Chhena,use Chhena made from full cream milk.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Litre full fat Milk / Doodh
  • 2 Tbsp Vinegar / Sirkha
  • 1 Pinch Baking soda
  • 1 Pinch Salt / Namak
  • 1/4 Cup Jaggery powder / Gud
  • 1/2 Tsp Green cardamom powder / Hari elaechi
  • 1/2 Tsp Clarified butter / Desi ghee
  • 1 Tbsp Semolina / Suji
  • 1/4 Cup chopped Dry fruits / Sukha Mewa

Instructions
 

  • Keep the milk to boil and then switch off.
  • Mix 2 tbsp Water in Vinegar and then add it to the boiled milk.
  • Keep it covered for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain out over a thin muslin cloth and you will get the Chena.
  • Pour some Water over it to rinse it.
  • Tie the cloth and keep it over the sieve for 10 minutes to remove excess water.
  • Now take the made Chena in a plate and mash it for 5 minutes or untill its smooth.
  • Add then mix in Suji, Baking soda, Salt, Cardamom, Ghee, melted Jagger, dry fruits and about 2 tbsp Water.
  • Drop chena mix into a greased baking dish of any shape lined and greased with parchment paper.
  • Level it up and garnish it with some more dry fruits.
  • Bake it in a preheated Kadai keeping a stand below for 50 minutes on medium heat or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Chhena poda is ready.Cool and then demould.Enjoy !

Note

  • instead of vinegar you can also use Lemon
  • Rinsing Chena with Water removes any odour from vinegar.
  • Use melted Jaggery or Jaggery powder.
  • in an Oven bake Chhena poda at 200⁰C for 45 to 50 minutes.

  • 1/2 Cup Wheat flour / Atta
  • 1/2 Cup Sorghum flour / Jowar
  • 1/2 Cup Pearl millet flour / Bajrap
  • 1/4 Cup Rice flour / Chawal atta
  • 1/4 Cup Gram flour / Besan
  • 1/2 Tsp or to taste Salt / Namak
  • 1 Tsp Sesame / Til
  • 2 Tbsp melted Clarified butter / Desi ghee
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric / Haldi
  • 1/4 Tsp Pepper / Kali mirch
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh coriander / Hara Dhaniya
  • 1 Tsp Chilli paste / mirch
  • 1 Tsp Ginger paste / Adrakh
  • 1 Tsp Garlic paste / Lasun
  • 1 Big Onion / Pyaz
  • Ghee or Oil for roasting

GRIND

  • 1 Tsp Carom / Ajwain
  • 1 Tsp Roasted Cumin / Zeera
  • 1 Tsp Roasted Coriander seeds Dhaniya

TOMATO CHUTNEY

  • 4 Tomatoes / Tamatar
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard Oil / Sarso tel
  • 1 Tsp Cumin / Zeera
  • 2 Tbsp coarsely ground Peanuts / Moongfali
  • 3-4 Green chillies / Hari mirch
  • 8 Garlic cloves / Lasun
  • 1/2 Tsp Ginger paste / Adrakh
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Coriander / Hara Dhaniya
  • Salt to taste / Namak
  • 1/2 Tsp Kashmiri chilli powder / Lal mirch

Instructions
 

  • To make Thali peeth in a bowl mix all the ingredients – Atta, Jowar, Bajra,Chawal atta, Besan, Salt, Til, Desi ghee, Turmeric, Pepper, chopped fresh coriander, Chilli paste, Ginger paste, Garlic paste and finely chopped Onion,. Also add in Ajwain, roasted Cumin and roasted Coriander seeds coarsely ground.
  • Now adding Water gradually make a soft dough as usually made for roti or Paratha.
  • Cover and keep the dough to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile prepare a Thecha/Chutney recipe.In smoked out Mustard oil add Cumin and let it to crackle few seconds on low.
  • Next add all the other remaining ingredients – Garlic, roughly chopped Tomatoes, Chillies, Chilli powder, Peanuts, Salt and fresh Coriander.
  • Cook on high heat till Tomatoes turn tender and gets a little dry.
  • Now mash with a masher and within 5 minutes Tomato chutney for Thali Peeth is ready.
  • Next take a tennis ball size portions of the dough and spread it into a roti over a thin wet cotton cloth with your hands,.
  • Using your finger make 5 holes in the roti.
  • Pick up the cloth with Thali Peeth roti on it and flip it over the hot Tawa.
  • Roast on both sides adding Ghee all over the edges on both sides and in between the holes.
  • Serve with butter topped over Thalipeeth and Tamaatar Thecha as a side dish.
