Crispy Chakli

Chakli is original recipe from south India.It is usually made during any auspicious occasion.

Ingredients :- ( Serves 13 )

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp Gram flour / Besan
  • 2 tbsp Butter or Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric / Haldi
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder / Dhaniya
  • 1/4 tsp Carom / Ajwain
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin / Zeera
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame / TIL
  • A pinch Asafoetida / Hing
  • 1 tbsp chopped curry leaves
  • 1 cup hot Water
  • Oil for frying

Method:-

  1. Mix all the ingredients making a soft dough and keep it covered for 30 minutes.
  2. Apply little oil over the walls of chakli maker and your palm.
  3. Fill the chakli maker with as much dough as required or possible with the star attachment.
  4. Make chakli’s over a greased aluminium foil or small plate seal ingredients its ends.
  5. Fry over low-medium heat to make crispy.
  6. Fry chakli’s till golden brown.Each batch of chakli takes 2-3 minutes to fry.
  7. Eat or store.
