Tomato puree is a versatile cooking ingredient that can be made and preserved for a long time. It can be prepared and used with blend of spices that need not to be added separately at the time of cooking so you can get all in one wet masala for your cooking. Plus adding tomatoes to your cuisine not only gives it a bit tangy flavor but is also high from health point of view as tomatoes contain antioxidants and helps to prevent prostrate cancer.
Tomatoes 1 Kg
Oil 2 tbsp
Garlic 1 tsp
Ginger 1 tsp
Red Chili Pwdr 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Wash the Tomatoes and keep it boiling in water for 5 min.
As wrinkles seem to appear over the tomatoes, it is the right time to put off the burner and let the tomatoes to cool down.
Then peel all the Tomatoes and blend then in a blender to make puree.
Now take a vessel and heat oil in it, after the oil is hot enough add the ginger garlic paste in it.
Sauté for a while and then add the blended puree, salt and chili powder to it.
Keep on cooking till the puree thickens and starts splattering, and then decide the ideal consistency you want.
The recipe is ready to be used.
Freeze the Tomato puree to preserve for longer period.
